CPD
Online
I am delighted to introduce CPD Online, our new e-learning website,
which was first launched in April 2006. Members of the Irish College
of Psychiatrists can now gain up to 10 CPD External points by
doing the online modules. Further e-learning activity can be claimed
for under Personal CPD points. CPD Online is growing quickly and
we welcome your feedback and contributions so as to make it a
more constructive and enjoyable learning experience.

Information for Consultant Psychiatrists
regarding CPD
The Irish College of Psychiatrists has written
to all psychiatrists on the Medical Council Specialist Register
to inform them that formal CPD/CME is now mandatory with effect
from 1st January 2004.
The CPD Handbook CR107 Good Psychiatric Practice: CPD in Ireland
has been circulated to all ICPsych Consultant members, to give information
on the commencement of CPD for Consultants in Ireland.
The ICPsych would encourage all its Consultant members to comply
with these CPD requirements on a voluntary basis. If you have any
queries please contact your local CPD Co-ordinator or the Administration
Office of the Irish College of Psychiatrists.
Many eligible Consultants have still not joined the Specialist
Register of the Medical Council. The Irish College of Psychiatrists
encourages all psychiatrists who are eligible to join the Specialist
Register, to apply to the Medical Council as soon as possible.
